Is Your Life Cluttered and Chaotic?

Lately, my life has begun to feel very cluttered and Chickster's life has become very chaotic. As a wife and mom we can get so caught up in our to do list that we miss the truly important moments of life. We are both doing some "renovations" in our lives to keep the two things that are truly important where they should be. More than any deal or discount our relationship with God and our families is our first priority.

We started this blog to help our family and friends save money. Over the last year and a half it has turned into so much more and we now have peeps who we have never even met which is truly amazing to us. All this said our intention with our blog has never been to add clutter to your lives. We have always been very selective in the deals we post and tried to only post deals that we have verified ourselves either with an ad or in the store. The last thing we want to do is to send you on a deal hunt to the store only to find it isn't available.

Couponing is a great way to save money but it can become clutter in your life if you aren't careful. I recently saw a couponer on Night Line whose two stall garage is so full of his stockpile that he can't park a car in it. Another couponer has enough toothpaste for more than a year. At first I was impressed with their stockpiles but then it just made me angry and sad. It made me angry because there are families that are struggling to survive in this economy so why not donate your abundance to help your community? It made me sad because I thought of all the time they spent (as we have too) chasing the deals instead of spending time with their families and friends. Life is too short to spend it shopping!

Don't worry we aren't quitting the blog but there are a few changes coming. Posting deals each day takes a lot of time from each of us so we are reevalating some of our posts to make better use of our time. We will continue to post deals each day but we will not post every deal out there because there are honestly too many and again we don't want to be clutter in your life. We are glad to have you check our blog every day but if you are checking our blog multiple times a day instead of spending time with God or your family then we are not serving you well!

We both love doing the blog but somewhere over the past several months it has started to turn into clutter and chaos at times so here is our plan to get back on the right track. We will still be posting deals each day and bringing you the weekly grocery store matchups. We will however be running deals through a "Is it clutter or chaos?" filter so there will be some deals we just won't post. Also, we each spend about an hour and a half posting deals for CVS and Walgreens each weekend. We don't want to have to spend our weekends on the blog so we are going to approach these stores a little differently now. We will begin posting "Friday's Top 5 Finds" which will be a single post with the top 5 deals and CVS and Walgreens for the week. There will be many deals that we won't post but we will link you to our blogging friend Lori over at Moms By Heart. She is very thorough with her posts and we trust her to bring you all the other deals. The key to shopping these stores well is to have very small transactions and to roll your RR/ECB on a second deal before you even leave the store. Posting the top 5 deals will hopefully help you shop these stores even better and eliminate a lot of time for us on the blog.
