Last Minute Mother's Day Craft

My friend Whitney and I combined our crafting abilities and came up with a cute craft for Mother's Day for our daycares.  I thought I would share it for anyone needing a last minute gift for Mom or Grandma!

Get a terra cotta pot and paint it yellow.  Let it dry completely.

Use painters tape to make strips on the pot.  Paint the exposed area along with the rim and saucer with black paint. Remove the tape and let it dry completely.

(Taping the pot is easier said than done so if your kiddos are old enough to paint strips it would be easier.  I used the tape so my kiddies could do it themselves.)   

Spray with sealer or Walmart carries shiny paint (Folk Art brand) which is what I used.  It was $1.27 for a small bottle.

Plant a flower in the pot.

         
          Print a "Thanks for being my Mommy, Grandma, or Nana" tag on cardstock.

Glue it onto a popsicle stick and stick it in the pot.

Walmart's Price Match Policy

I received an email from one of my peeps stating that she was told that she can't price match and use a coupon at Walmart today.  This is not the case as I have done it hundreds of times.  I did take a look to make sure that they didn't change anything on their policies stating otherwise and there is no mention of this not being acceptable. 

I did learn a couple of things though that have changed (or I just missed them the first 20 times I read the policy)

First, Walmart will price match a B1G1F sale at a store if the price is listed in the ad!  This is great for those deals at Walgreens like this week you can buy select candy at $2.29 and get one FREE.  Not only can this save you a trip but it can come in handy when Walgreens stock is cleared out!

Second,  they do not honor another store's brand for price matching. I have price matched store brand for store brand at Walmart lots of time for milk, eggs and butter but apparently this is no longer allowed per their policy.  I'm not sure if this is a change or they just never have enforced it but be aware it could happen.
